 The West Yorkshire Fuchsia and Pot Plant Society was formed in Leeds in 1978 with the intention to encourage our members to grow better plants by giving advice through demonstration and discussion.
We hold 11 meetings per year with a varied programme covering all aspects of horticulture and cultivation.  At the monthly meetings there is an opportunity to exchange plants, tips and experiences in a friendly informal atmosphere. We exhibit at Harrogate flower shows and also at the Great Yorkshire show, where we have won Silver Gilt medals for our displays.

The society holds a annual flower show which is open to the public to take part, as well as a members show.
 It may well be that you only want to grow fuchsias and other plants for fun, or even want to exhibit plants at our shows.  Why not come and join us where you can learn more about growing beautiful plants, and meet a friendly group of fellow growers.
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month (except December) at

The cost is only £8 a year. This is amazing value and includes the following  great benefits:-

• Members are given 2 plug distribution plants each year in March.  This is with the hope that they will grow them on and bring them  back to exhibit in our Members Show in August.
  
  
• We hold our meetings every 3rd Wednesday of each month (except December).  Our monthly meetings  are  on a wide variety of topics, mainly garden related and are entertaining and informative.

• Not all meetings are the same, sometimes we have guest speakers, mini shows, workshops and even some of our more knowledgeable members share their know how.

• We have 2 shows per year, one is our Annual show which is open to the public which includes a fantastic plant sale. The other is our Members Only Show both are in August.

• We have displays and plant sales at the Great Yorkshire Show and Harrogate Autumn Show at Newby Hall. We have regularly achieved a Silver Gilt Award for our displays.
  
  
• We produce a monthly Newsletter  for members. These are sent out via email.
  
  

As already mentioned the cost is only £8 per year.
All our meetings have a Raffle, Refreshments and Homemade Cakes. All our members are friendly and happy to share advice on all aspects of gardening.
